I'm a coffee lover, and enjoy lighter roast beans with coffee made using French presses. I really enjoy using coffee grinders to get the freshest flavor from my coffee beans. I considered a number of different grinders, but I went with this one because it seemed simpler to operate, and there were a number of design features that drew me to it. Plus, OXO's older grinder seemed to get decent reviews. - This grinder is pretty quiet and quick to operate. I use the 12 grind setting, and leave the timer for 7 seconds and I get the perfect amount for 16 oz of water. I've been consistently getting the same amount of grounds every time. - The construction of the stainless steel removable burr with the plastic seems solid. I've seen other grinders with the burr in plastic housings that seem like they would fall apart after long term use. This grinder seems solid, but time will tell! - The chute and grounds cup does not leave grounds falling everywhere, nor is there a bunch of static, so I think this part is well-designed. - The footprint and overall size is pretty compact and the design is pretty clean and should fit in most kitchens.
