I bought them to place under a bed to keep out our particularly skittish cat that loves to hide underneath all day until we're all asleep, then starts her nightly litter- & crap-laden rampage throughout the house that she blames on the other cat come morning. The spikes do NOT work for this cat. The cat was very dedicated and, when presented with spikes versus social interaction and accountability, said "Worth it." However the OTHER cat wanted nothing to do with the spikes. When delivered I sat on the couch stringing several spike squares together, laying the spike track along the back of the couch like a knitting project. Cat 2 likes to hang out there. Cat 2 quickly got the message and stayed off the back of the couch. So... my problem wasn't resolved by the product but I blame the cat and not the product.
