The 4 raised bumpers on each corner of the back of the case is hard plastic giving it a rough edge that is a bit uncomfortable feeling when running your fingers over it while holding the phone. Other than that the case is solid and feels good in the hand and has superb grip. The protective film that others have mentioned is a bit of a pain to get off and does leave you a bit worried about messing the case up trying to peel it off both side of the case and yes you will see every single smudge on this thing as well so if that's going to bother you then I'd recommend getting the black version they offer instead. 12/13/18 Update: Just wanted to say the case is holding up well and I hadn't noticed any scratches on the back of the case like I thought I would have by now.
