You will read plenty of complaints here about the color discrepancies on olive-colored hats for a good reason. I made a trip to an outdoor Recreation Equipment store and discovered that the manufacturer produces at least two shades of olive, as seen in the first two photos taken of the same large-size hats. There’s no camera or lighting trickery involved here, folks. Both are labeled olive and one is visibly more olive than the other. But your guess is as good as any other. For your reference, the third and fourth photos are side-by-side comparisons of the Olive (left) and Chocolate (right) colors. While this hat deserves a 5/5 for the construction, packaging, crushability and waterproof quality, the color uncertainty does pose a dilemma. You are best advised to first browse in-store for color and size before making the purchase online.
