This pack is perfect for such things. It's lightweight and slim so it's not like carrying another child on your back. I've carried this pack through tight, packed stores, trains, buses, museums, restaurants and I have never once knocked into anyone or anything with it. It's understated metro is what it is. Perfect. It adjusts to fit both me and my wife. Now, if we could just get the kids to carry their own stuff....
