I don't know what people in Thailand drink, but this is what they serve at Thai restaurants.
This is the real deal, what just about every Thai restaurant serves for Thai Iced Tea. There are lots of suggestions in other reviews for tweaking the "recipe" and it took me a few tries to get it right ("right" as in duplicating what I personally prefer).
For me the secret is - lots of sugar, which I mix in while the tea is still hot. Then it goes in a container in the fridge. When I want to drink some, I put lots of ice cubes in a glass - pour the tea in, then top with half n half. Note, if you pour cold cream over hot tea, they will mix together (as in the attached photo). If you have some tea already chilled in the fridge, the cream will stay on the top when poured over the tea slowly - just like it does at the restaurant.
I have no idea how many calories or how much caffeine is in a single glass of this stuff, but it's probably best that I never find out.
