This little crap face right here. Cute looking, right? Wrong! It's nail trim time and he's getting ready to turn into a tornado of basset fury that the biggest crocodile death roll couldn't compare to. Our little fella cannot stand to get his nails trimmed. As soon as I go to the cabinet where I keep my grooming supplies the mood in the house changes. All the groomers in the area won't see us and the vet bills with sedation are just out of control. Had I known this grooming hammock was an option I would have gone with it long ago. Now I won't say it completely "calms the fury," and I might still consider the muzzle next time (this was our first time using it.) However, just having a way to immobilize the muscular, spinning force of a 45lb basset, snapping and yelping before you've even laid clipper to nail, really toned down the mood of the whole experience which can be a big deal with dogs. He's a smart little turd, so I'm sure he'll have it figured out soon, but if I can catch him and get him roped up in this contraption again in the future I will, without a doubt, continue to use it. One vet-sedation-free trim and it's already paid for itself! Haha. 10/10 recommend!
