Worked great!!! Pro Tip: Use Clear Packing Tape
Product worked great. I've worked with resin before and i knew it would stick to every thing. To prevent this I used THICK 3M clear packing tape which i hope will help other get a nice finish on thier repairs. I used the Tape for for 3 purposes as follows.
1) Color matching I used the clear tape to appy the apply the resin to the tub to see how close the color match was. To color match make a small amount with the color as it will be too dark no matter what even with a super tiny amount of color on a toothpick head. Then create another larger batch for the actual repair. Then mix little amounts from the 1st batch into the second until you get the right color. Place it on the clear tape on the tub to verify the color. Keep adding a little more until the color is matched.
2) Prior to mixing the color, put clear packing tape around the hole your repairing Then sand that area with 220grit, (the 100grit with the kit seemed overkill to me). Replace the tape around the hole. Also apply tape to the yellow spreader with the kit so you can reuse it if needed. Apply the patch. Try to smooth it with out leaving a low spot and let it dry for 24 hours.
3) Sand with 220 with the tape still on, just a little. Remove the tape add more packing tape and sand smooth. Keep replacing the tape. The reason why i did this is so that i would not damage our tubs finish in the areas not needing repair. Once it seemes flate changed the tape again moved up to 500 grit then 1000grit then 1200grit removed the tape and finished up with car polish and carnuba wax.
Unfortunatly the color did not turn out perfect as the materials are differnet but im very happy with the result. Hope this helps you all get a nice repair from the product.
Also buy/obtain extra stirring sticks like popsicle sticks to mix the resin. I bought a wet sandpaper kit from Harbor Freight for $3.99 as it contained 220, 500, 1000, 1200 grit sandpaper for a cheap price.
