Many of the bed rails have legs that are designed to go down to the floor. If the bed is too short OR if the bed is adjustable (head raises and lowers), then the type with legs can't be used. But, this one is perfect. My mother uses a Tempur-Pedic adjustable bed and this is the only bed rail that worked. It is well made and works on the right or the left side of the bed.
