Over 2 years & only had 1 issue regarding watching streams (which may not be the modem's fault)
I ordered this within a few weeks of it's release because I couldn't stand the glaring lights of the Arris models. Thankfully, this product didn't disappoint. The lights are somewhat bright, but NOWHERE near as bright at the Arris model I had. In fact, I went ahead and put some LightDims Original Strength stickers over the lights just to make them even more dim.
Regarding the setup, I just went to Comcast's website, activated it, waited for it to be provisioned, and it worked.
I tried a speed test before and after installing this modem and I didn't see any change in my speed (55 Mbps down 5 Mbps up and 37ms ping). However, unless I'm just imaging things, webpages seem to load faster than they did before. In addition, I went to 192.168.100.1 and updated my username & password and checked out all the device information (even though I had no clue what most of it meant).
Overall, I would recommend this cable modem, especially over the current Arris models.
UPDATE (5/2016) : I've been using this modem for over 3 months and it still works perfectly.
UPDATE (7/2017): After 1 year & 6 months it has began crashing on me. If I watch a Twitch stream for like 6 hours, it'll crash. I have to keep unplugging it & plugging it back in & then it'll work again.
UPDATE (9/30/2017): A couple weeks after my last review, it just stopped resetting itself. I have no idea why it did that to begin with, but it's been working fine since then. I changed it back to 4 stars because I have no idea what happened. However, I did email Motorola & they never responded. Seems the customer service sucks. The lack of customer service, combined with the random resets that happened for a month or so, are the reasons for the 4 star rating.
UPDATE: (01/07/2018): Still getting connection errors when I try to watch a stream on Twitch. It's only happening when I watch Twitch though. So, I'm confused on whether it's Comcast throttling Twitch, something on Twitch's end, or my Cable Modem. I tried plugging the cable modem directly to the PC & still had the problem. At least I know the issue isn't with my ASUS router. The top of this cable modem definitely gets pretty hot. If anyone has any ideas, let me know.
UPDATE: (06/03/2018): Since the last update, I've had no further issues with the modem. I'll only update further if there are any issues.
