Great Product - BUT PLEASE BE CAREFUL
I gave this product a 5-Star rating based upon its PERFORMANCE, which is excellent. The "GEL" consistency makes it easy to apply to only those areas that need to be 'stripped'. HOWEVER, I must take exception to some of the front label claims: "Safe for Indoor Use" and "No Harsh Fumes"; the product name "Citristrip" with the cute image of an Orange makes the product seem inoccuous. I do agree that this product is SAFER than other strippers, BUT it is definitely NOT SAFE if improperly used!
The "Directions for Use" states "Protect hands with chemical resistant gloves . . ", but does not specify that BUTYL RUBBER gloves are the truly safe type; standard latex, rubber, or nitril gloves are NOT SAFE as the stripping solvent WILL easily penetrate these.
As for the "Safe for Indoor Use" claim, the product is safe but ONLY IF ADEQUATE VENTILATION is provided; just opening the windows is NOT sufficient without forced ventilation. I think that the product name, Orange image and the rather pleasant Orange aroma may give the users a false sense of security regarding the hazards associated with the fumes. The product contains a 'bittering agent' to "discourage accidental swallowing", but I would prefer the manufacturer to include an offensive malodorous agent (like a good dose of Skatole . . which will make you think that a dozen pigs/boars have 'done their duty' around your feet) to discourage accidental over exposure to the fumes! (I may sound a bit paranoid, but a friend died a week after cleaning his racing bike gearing and chain with a solvent in a poorly ventilated room.)
Again, great product, BUT PLEASE BE CAREFUL!
