I've slept with a humidifier next to my bedside for years because the aromatherapy from the essential oils help me to sleep better and the humidity allows me to wake up without my nasal passages feeling dried out from forced heat air in the room. I would say that this has to be the nicest bedside unit I have ever had! The actual humidifier is actually made of a wood grain plastic so it won't warp or get water spots on it after long term use. It does, however look just like naturally turned wood, and you wouldn't know the difference just looking at it. The changing light colors are very soothing but you can choose to not use the light feature if you prefer. Honestly, I find the changing colors to be soothing and it helps me relax before sleeping. There are 7 different colors and they can be set to either stay steady on or with changing colors as the humidifier works. You can also choose to have the colors bright or dim. The humidifier has a timer that can be set for 1,3 or 6 hours or just on without a time limit. It runs very quietly at night and takes up very little room on my bedside table. You can use it with or without essential oils, so if you'd rather not use scent, you certainly can do that. The mist and light will automatically turn off when the water runs out, so if you oversleep or forget to turn it off before leaving for the day, you don't have to worry about the humidifier becoming damaged. The product seems to be very well thought out and beautifully made with attention to detail. I think anyone who enjoys both functional and beautiful items for their home will be glad they purchased this product. I found it easy to set up and learn to operate.
