We needed kid-friendly blinds for our bedroom and these were so cheap that it seemed silly not to give them a try. They didn't stick well to the frame of our windows, though—they kept falling down. So, we used Command Strips to secure them to the top and honestly, you can't even really tell they're there. (Unless you are looking far too closely at our bedroom for some reason.) I would say they let just the right amount of light through, too. It's not so bright that I'm angry that I can't take a nap, but it doesn't block so much light that I start feeling like I'm trapped in Bram Stoker's version of my bedroom. I'd say it's a pretty excellent purchase.
