okay so I will try to make this short and answer few idea from the other reviews you may have read. This makes the exact amount of cups it states if you know what a cup is. A cup of coffee varies some consider 6 oz or 8 oz a cup of coffee. so 5 cups of coffee equals 5x6oz which is 30oz or if you are going by 8oz 8x5 equals 40oz. a standard cup of coffee is not that large mug your wife bought you or cup you drink from it is 6oz or 8oz. so 5 cups means you will get either 30oz or 40 oz of coffee out of this thing. a regular cup the one you drink from holds 16 ozs of coffee. this means you can get no more than 2 drinks or 2 cups of coffee out of this thing. Next when people say it spills. It can be used with out filter but I recommend using paper filler and problem will be solved. If you don't know what size to buy just use a sheet of bounty it works exactly the same. The spill is usually user error because if you use a filter you wont get coffee grains in the coffee or have the spill issue. Size wise it does not take up much space less than even your average blender. It make coffee very fast not under 30 seconds but 3-5 minutes which I think is reasonable. It gets average use for me maybe 4 times out the weak and once a day and still running smooth after two month. I cant say how long it will last but its seems to be intended to be for one person use not busy office. If you are reading this I read all the reviews as well on all the other coffee makers etc and if your question is this a good one the answer is YES.
