I should really say, "My husband loves it!" He's a big kid, and he wanted to make shaved ice at home. So we got it. Aaaaand...we like it. He really thinks it's the bee's knees. I think it's shaved ice. The cups that come with it are chintzy. The straws that come with it are kind of cool, and not cost-effective. They sent along two plastic bowls that are good for making the right amount of ice, if you could actually stick them into the freezer...but they don't have lids. If you go into the freezer before they are frozen solid, you may be unhappily surprised. The flavors...I only like red, the rest are bizarre. He loves them. I love him. If he wants them, he can have them. I didn't think we needed one, but if it makes him happy, we'll have one. Even if it takes up space when not in use, which is most of the time. I liked having the option of getting the accessories and flavorings so we could have our own Hawaiian Shaved Ice and Snow Cone Machine Party at home. It was a dull party, just the two of us, on the couch, eating snow cones. We should have thought to use some of the cups for party hats. So, have yourself a party. This was not a review where I got money off or the item for free, but I did use my Amazon Visa points, so we paid nothing for it, and got it on Prime with the free shipping. We had nothing to lose, since we could get free shipping to send it back. What the heck, sometimes you just gotta go wild and have a snow cone party, even if you're a senior citizen.
