4K refers to one of two high definition resolutions: 3840 x 2160 pixels or 4096 x 2160 pixels. This camera's maximum resolution is 2880 x 2160 pixels @24fps (3k?). Otherwise it's a decent camera. The settings are easy to change. The rove app for viewing and recording, as well as adjusting the settings is very convenient. It is the highest video quality camera I've bought for my car. Night time recording is very well, It's exceptionally good in pitch black conditions with just headlights, and even better on a street light lit highway. The built in microphone is good. It is able to clearly record conversation. Very useful in the event of a traffic stop. GPS speed watermark on the bottom of the video is nice as well, it is accurate. Setting my car to 50mph on cruise control had the same speed showing on the video. The mount is a little bit... different. Lets just say it could be better. For the most part it gets the job done, but for fine tuning the exact rotation of the camera it leaves something to be desired. The camera comes with everything you'll need to mount it, as well as tuck the wire away to the side so it's not dangling in front of your windshield. I'm using 4 of these, one for front, one for back, and one for each side. Since adding them to my car I have evidence of over 20 near miss moments of other drivers almost colliding with my vehicle. All in all, I would recommend this dash cam every time.
